If you are having trouble connecting to a frame using an invitation code, please follow these steps to ensure a successful connection.
1. Verify the Frame is Online
A friend code can only be validated if the frame is actively communicating with our servers.
- Check with the Owner: Confirm that the Pexar Smart Frame is currently powered on and connected to Wi-Fi.
- Cloud Status: If the frame shows a "Disconnected" or "Offline" status on its screen, it won't be able to verify any new incoming codes.
2. Check for Code Expiration
To ensure your privacy and security, Pexar invitation codes are temporary.
- 12-Hour Window: A friend code is typically valid for 12 hours after it is generated. If this time has passed, the code will expire and become invalid.
- Solution: Ask the frame owner to generate a fresh code in the "Add Friend" menu on the frame and try again immediately.
3. Confirm the Code Accuracy
It's easy to mistype a digit, especially with similar-looking characters.
- Double-Check: Verify each digit with the owner.
- Pro Tip: Ask the owner to send a photo of the code directly from the frame's screen. This ensures the code you enter in your Frameo App perfectly matches the one displayed on the hardware.
4. Restart Your Phone
Sometimes temporary cache or network issues on your phone may prevent a successful connection.
- Why it helps: In some cases, app cache (such as Frameo) or network glitches can interfere with the binding process.
- Solution: Restart your phone, then reopen the app and try entering the friend code again.
5. Disable Mobile VPN or Security Software
Sometimes, settings on your smartphone can interfere with the connection to the Pexar Cloud.
- VPN Interference: If you have a VPN or a local proxy enabled on your phone, it may block the app's ability to verify the code.
- Solution: Temporarily disable any active VPN or ad-blocking software on your mobile device, then try entering the friend code again.
