How to Use a USB Drive or SD Card with Your Pexar Frame

Pexar digital picture frames feature an SD Card Slot and a USB-A Port on the back, so you can load a large batch of photos at once — no phone or Wi-Fi required. This is the fastest way to add hundreds of photos in one go.

Before you start

• Compatibility: Supports SD cards and USB-A drives. Please ensure the storage is FAT32 or exFAT formatted.
• Use standard photo formats (JPG / PNG); videos should be MP4.

Import photos from an SD card or USB drive

1. Insert your SD card or USB-A drive into the port on the back of the frame.
2. Open Settings → Manage photos → Import photos.
3. Tap to select the photos you want. (Note: use the square icon in the top right corner to select or de-select all photos at once.)
4. Press the Import icon (downward pointing arrow) in the top right corner.
5. The frame copies the photos into its internal storage, so you can safely remove the external storage afterward.

Play photos directly from external storage (optional)

If you'd rather not copy photos into internal memory, open Settings → Manage photos → Play from external storage. The frame plays photos straight from the card or drive — just keep it inserted.

Transfer via USB-C cable (Windows / Linux only)

1. Connect your frame to your computer with a USB-C cable.
2. On your frame, go to Settings → Manage photos → Transfer from computer.
3. Toggle the feature ON. Your computer will detect the frame as an external drive.
4. Open your File Explorer, locate the Pexar digital picture frame, and copy photos into the DCIM folder.

• Note: Avoid disconnecting the cable until the transfer is 100% complete. Direct cable transfer is not supported on macOS — use an SD card or USB-A drive instead.

Troubleshooting

The frame doesn't detect my card or drive?
Make sure it's formatted as FAT32 or exFAT, then re-insert it.

My photos don't show up?
Confirm they're in a supported format (JPG / PNG).

Can I leave the card in permanently?
Yes — use "Play from external storage." If you choose "Import," you can remove it once copying is done.
